Favourite Christmas tipple?

Aberlour single malt or Haig 25 Both lovely and smooth single malts. My middle stepson usually gets me a bottle of Aberlour for my birthday and another for Christmas.
It has to be drank slowly to savour the taste and appreciate the smoothness. I get a lovely warm feeling when drinking it followed by hiccups! LOL
Oh, and if you want it chilled make sure to use stone blocks from the freezer, NOT ICE!

Before I had to stop drinking alcohol, I loved nesingle malt whiskies.
Lagavulin was a fave.
I hear Japan make some excellent whiskies these days.

What about Johnny Walker Red label or Johnny Walker Black label?

Personally can't stand the smell of Whisk(e)y or Brandy. They are my mum and dad's favourite tipples.

Brandy: Hennessey XO or Martel
Whisky: Higland park, Laphroaig, Jura or
Glen Farclas 1050 (cask strength)

All vile IMO.

It is the smell it makes me shudder, I don't know why I tried to enjoy it on previous occasions thinking it might be an aquired taste like beer when you first start drinking it but I could never quite get the hang of it so I gave up in the end.

Same, it's smells poisonous!

I cannot get away with any Whisky..Went to a whisky tasting class of quite expensive stuff..Some was like paintstripper and apparently had to have water added. .I persevered but just cannot enjoy the taste at all.

Glen Farclas 105 (not 1050 :() is apparently 60% ABV probably explains why it's one of the old man's favourites.

What about Johnny Walker Red label or Johnny Walker Black label are they considered high end? I never could get the hang of enjoying scotch, I did try but just never could get the hang of it and it always burnt my throat

How does American Whisky compare to Scotish Whiskey/Scotch?

Is Scotch technically the same thing as Scotish Whiskey? What about Irish Whiskey is that any good? I believe they make it out of potatoes

Only Scottish whisky (scotch) is spelt without an e all other whiskies are spelt with an e. Johnny walker whisky is amongst the likes of bells whisky it's a blended malt.

I couldn't tell you much about the various whiskies relative taste though as to me, they're all various levels of vile.

Irish whiskey is made in much the same way as scotch, I.e. not from potatoes. That's poteen or poitín.

Nothing different at Christmas, so red wine (mostly malbec) and whisky. Maybe a beer if I am in the mood, but beer makes me feel bloated these days and I struggle to drink it really, which is a bit depressing. I used to drink it like water.
