Thank you to everyone who has replied to my question, I am seriously impressed by the amount of knowledge you all have and the help that you have all given me. I heard back from the electrician who installed my CU after I realised I did not receive a copy of my EIC and certificate of compliance (even though the works had been notified). I have both of these in safe keeping now. Screenshot of the EIC below but I don't think it changes anything - I will need to have the garage rewired if I am to install a dedicated wall charger in the garage, which is not really something I want to do at the moment.
