Fill bath new before silicone --- why

The tiling stops about 10 mm from the floor and the vinyl floor gos under the tiles by 30/40mm all around the room then the gap between vinyl floor and tiles is filled with silicone

What was the other disaster you see

The bath should slot under the tiles.

Oh that yes I know that is the way to go but there were factors that meant that I had to get the tiling done a few weeks ago and not having the bath or knowing any of those measurements I was not able to wait and finish the tiling around the bath after it was in.
What else do you spot
Is the wall tiles ok how I described

A full bath with a person could way the better part of 250 kg.

It WILL shift over time ss will the floor. Personally I never use brackets. I screw a length of 2x3 to the long edge and short faces and sit it on those.

I agree wth Dan, two straps fixed to the wall, two bits of CLS under the legs, fill the Bath & silicone.

Apart from that-- How i have described the floor do you think that is ok now

What do you want me to say about it? The floor is the least of your worries. Will it jump up and run down the road screaming "thief"? No.

Will the water that will inevitably leak from the side of the bath be held back by mastic and vinyl?

Maybe - for a bit.

You said the wall tiles were wrong with the tiles down to the floor so after i fully described how they were done I am interested to hear if you now think they are now ok

I have actually done it this way before in another house without any leaks - after all how wet is that ledge of the bath going to get also for us anyway the bath is almost never used as we have a separate shower. That is one reason for the tiles behind the bath because at one point we were not even going to have a bath in there at all

You crack on then fella. What do I know about this kind of thing. Your two baths to the sum total of the forum professionals are obviously a far better sample to base judgement on.

Another reason for filling the bath with water is, you have easy access to clean the crap of your hands if need be:)

and as for bath under the tiles....what about these baths that sit in the middle of the bath room?...just dont splash about..I dont see a shower in the vicinity so you should be ok.(y)

You could of course have cut into the tile and pushed the bath under them also...having said all that mines fitted under the tiles:notworthy::whistle: but i have a shower and wanted to make sure nothing was getting downstairs.

Yep separate shower cubical- the bath is almost never used
