Filling deep holes round electrical sockets

Bonding every time in my book. Dampen, then PVA the surrounding area first.

If you're tiling over, you don't need finish/multi-finish. You won't get the same smooth finish, but it doesn't matter for tiling.

Push it in tightly, let it ooze into the little holes in the back-box. Makes it all nice and solid.

Just scrape the 'snots' off in the box when dried.

I'm sure B&Q do a 5KG bag of one-coat for about £7.

When I am doing a few boxes in once go, such as a whole room, I use hardwall. Slap loads on the back of the box, and push it into the hole. Make sure the box is square and true, and gently flick the bits off that have come in through the boxes holes.

Next day, more hardwall to go around the box, levelling it with the wall or a couple of mm back. This sticks them absolutely solid, but the stuff only comes in 25KG bags, and has a fairly short shelf-life.
