Just a basic 'how to' about kodi/firesticks.
Get a firestick - the newer the better. 4K or 4K Max but older ones will work albeit slower.
To load kodi on it, because it’s not in the App Store you have to 'jailbreak it'. This is nothing more than a few clicks in the settings to allow unknown apps to be loaded. Takes about 15 seconds and you only have to do this once.
Next, you download a free app that is in the App Store called 'Downloader'. Takes about a minute or two. You only have to do that once.
Next, open the Downloader app, type 'troypoint.com/kodistable' In the address bar and that will download the latest stable version of kodi in a few minutes depending on your internet speed. which you then click to install and that’s it - the kodi app is downloaded and installed on your stick. You only need to do that once - you will get a message when a newer version is released and you just follow the step from the Downloader app to update your kodi - if you want to. Go to settings>system>Add-ons in kodi and check the 'unknown sources' slider then press yes when prompted and you are ready to install your add-ons.
You can add kodi onto your PC and most android tablets/phones. Can have it on Apple products though.
There’s loads of addons out there, much of them are the same. I use Magic Dragon, Asgard, The Crew for movies and TV and Rising Tides and SportHD for sport. (There’s also a pretty decent sports section contained in the Asgard addon). Just Google 'how to install Magic Dragon/The Crew/Rising Tides etc' and there will be a dozen links telling you how to do it although I always follow troypoint.com links just out of habit. They’ll all try to sell you a vpn though but ignore that and buy one yourself, if possible through a cashback site. I use Nord VPN. Costs about £80 for a 2 year basic package plus you can get about £30 back if you buy it through a cashback site. VPN works well with the live stuff. For movies, a Real Debrid account is best and that costs around £15 for 6 months subscription. You get better, advert free dedicated links for movies and TV.
Have a play with it and let us all know how you get on. If this takes off, maybe we could start a Kodi thread?
