Mark where the outside edge of the architrave should be, score a line with a Stanley knife and scrape down to be level with the door casing using an old widish chiselThe architrave on the right isn't on a flat surface. Should I chip it back level?
You can butt up to the hinge, but the problem is that your architrave set back should really be the same as it is on other doors, or it looks odd - as do unequal set-backs.Cand butt it up to hinge? On left I guess need to cut it thinner
The professional approach is to do a scribed rip cut up the outside of the architrave, adjusting with s block plane or spokeshave as required
