It is an established fact that politicians in a democracy tell more lies than a politician in a non democracy.
The reason for that is because in a democracy you need the peoples votes, so you employ focus groups to find out what the people want, you then promise to deliver their wishes.
In an authoritarian state the politicians don't require consent, so they just issue edicts and if anyone complains they usually have "accidents" or just disappear.
