11 Scots, p*st up on a cocktail of 80/-, Buckfast wine and a bag of jellies could stand up for longer than those fairies do in the 18 yard box from what I've seen.

New Zealand has a smaller population than our Celtic chippers and yet have the best rugby team in the World...

Because they stick to what they're good at.

Same with Australia. They're world beaters at cricket (or at least they used to be) because they don't do football (they're too intelligent!). For that reason, they have much more money than we do to invest in cricket.

Aussie rules - footy? - big downunder.

Talk to an Aussie petrolhead (doesn't leave out many 'diggers' ) and they bemoan the fact that they are so far away from 'where it all happens' (Euroland - they say), hence I am guessing sport must become a great option for the youngsters (those who aren't 'up here', that is) sympathetic weather encourages participation... The Kiwis are in the same boat, only more so, not too many choices - mind you, the Welsh are closer to nirvanah, maybe it has something to do with the be-wellingtoned pursuit of sheep ?

Too many options for our kids - maybe poor management too, read about Belgium and their resurgence in soccer... MAkes sense.

As I,m roasting in the south of France with my Spanish lappy,I had to wait to midnight to watch on TF1. I thought our team played as good for a long time. Another time we could've won. 2 games to go it aint over yet. Aussie rules is a great game my team for 30 yrs or so is Carlton, but it aint football .

I am surprised 1966 has not been mentioned yet

122 was a better date,a wall was being built. ;)

Which one son?? The Romans build two, but a smart English rsole would know that, perhaps???.... Strange also how you mention the invading Roman Empire, when they didn't get too far into Scotland, but were all over Engerland for 400 years!!! Just like Italy the other night......

Better mention 1967, when Scotland beat England & the Scottish players took the pizz out of the cheating WC winners.

C'mon Uruguay!!!!

Why on Earth would anyone want to invade Scotland?

Eh, our 400 years supply of oil perhaps.
Our well educated, inventive & hard working people.
Or our location; we're the best located country in Europe to provide Green energies.
Etc etc etc!!!
What do you think nosetooclosetoyourarsehole???
