Freely TV

Just seen a Freely advert on TV.

Looks like things are moving.

They have an arrangement with Hisense who make Freely enabled sets.

They are called Everyone TV.

Backed by BBC, ITV, C4 and C5.

Don't seem connected to Freeview.

But I'm not ready to embrace it and certainly don't want to invest in a Hisense TV.
I have an Hisence TV and it's wonderful.
The only downside is the little Chinese fella in the top left hand corner watching every move we make. Otherwise it's the best thing since chopsticks to come out of China

It is definitely firmly related to Freeview and Freesat. It was formerly known as DigitalUK before changing to the Everyone TV branding.

Are you saying Freely will be loaded with ads?

Any more than catch-up TV is now?

If you've ever tried watching TV in usa, you won't want it paid for by adverts.

It's unwatchable. More adverts than tv

Well, it's a-coming up to Chrizzy time and Freely is picking up the pace with more manufacturers joining Hisense.

So far as I can make out, there is Toshiba, Panasonic, Sharp and Bush.

Has anybody got one or are you thinking of getting one?

as an aside argos have the bush'hitachi and other names exclusively for electrical goods[so own brand only ] or used to be ??

The blurb I read said that it was going to be more internet- rather than transmission-based.

Poss a free version of Sky Glass then. Can't see the point of buying a tv that can only receive internet transmissions from one provider. Brother got Glass few months ago and it's full of glitches. In that short time already had two seperate nights with no tv - presumably as internet must have gone down. Had problems with films and long programmes, getting half way through and refusing to go any further - usually if you pause it. Also few incidents of vision and sound not synched by several seconds for whole programmes. Basically a computer with a very large built in screen, so suppose problems are to be expected. Never got these with normal tv. Lots of other minor annoyances too like no recording function, no +1 channels, different channel numbers to normal Sky satellite channels and they don't put the Glass channel numbers in printed tv guides so have to scroll through to find channel. Whenever I am at his, it's a total pain to use.

Yes, I believe Argos have Bush.

Currys have Logik, Advent and I believe Kenwood is one of theirs too.

John Lewis have their own appliance brand, but I don't know who makes them.
