Gas Boiler Heat Exchanger Pressure Loss

No, beg your pardon, I was pondering why JM needed to know this in relation to his boiler change. Mass flow, head loss, as long as met by pump whether in or out of boiler, all is well.

I don't need to know. This isn't my thread.

Johntheo5 was the OP, and was asking about the new way of presenting this type of information, which I agree produces some very confusing graphs, and I was just joining in the discussion.

I see what you mean. Why was I providing all those examples of Intergas boilers? It was just to illustrate the different ways the same information can be provided by different manufacturers. One way is to show a residual head graph, and the other way is to show the pressure loss graph along with a graph for the built in pump at full head. Not related to my new boiler purchase!

Nothing to apologise for.(y)

I would like to ask another question, though, but it may be trade sensitive, so I can see why you might not be able to answer. It seems to me that an open vent boiler is mainly a system boiler without a pump and expansion vessel. So, it seems strange to me that Vokera haven't updated the open vent boiler in quite a while, because it would seem to be quite an easy thing to do. But are there other technical considerations which make it more difficult?

I would have to guess that it would have something to do with either the characteristics of alternative heat exchanger or the number of OV boilers sold not making certifying a model worthwhile.

Can you run the Vokera system boilers as an open vent boiler? I want to stick with open vent, but I've read this can be done in some situations, with some boilers.
