because its a private site and they can do whatever they like!

Thats as maybe but surely in the intersts of good reputation they should give a valid reason and not just because some people don't like an in offensive thread?

I don't think this post/topic/discussion is any more interesting than any of the others that you are refering to which, by the way are the only ones in the GD that I've never looked in.
If you don't like them, just ignore them.

Ignore???

Are you mad?

Anyone who engages the use of an Internet forum in order to anonymously communicate with others and to then go on and deliberately ignore someone is completely ridiculous.

I find the ignore facility both puerile and pointless.

I find the ignore facility both puerile and pointless.

The last time I was checked, I wasn't mad. I didn't mean one had to use the ignore button. I meant if you don't like those threads, don't go in them.
Simples.

The Internet is not like real life. The reason it exists is because people can anonymously explore anywhere they like. Not doing so is bonkers.

You need to go into a topic to see if you do not like it.

Agreed.
But then as in 'real life' if you go to a restaurant and don't like it would you go back to it?
Then if you don't like a thread why go back to it and post in it?

I would only visit the restaurant later on to see if things had improved.

I will always visit a thread out of curiosity to see what is new.

ALWAYS.

I have nothing to lose on an Internet forum.

What one individual finds interesting or mundane.
Will differ from another.
Harmless interesting and mundane, who cares.

If I find a topic that I either feel I can't or don't wish to contribute to, I don't!
But I won't knock that topic, if it's not my cup of tea, it's not my cup of tea.

and of course we want more interesting topics, but what some consider interesting others don't! done that already
