You gotta like camping, you gotta like your music, you gotta like that party atmosphere a festival gives you, and you probably prefer being around your friends than you do anything else.

And you probably have the youthful energy to do all of the above.

I'm a regular festival goer, but i rarely camp. If it's close by i'll get a lift each day. Or if not, get a local(ish) b&b.

went to the first one, nice hot day, climbed over the fence, no way was I going to pay a £1.00 to get in.

That was better than Glastonbury

I was arrested for being near the stones, i saw lots of people some girls getting a kicking for no reason at all. anybody with long hair was in trouble if they walked through avebury.

It was not the local police it was the same lot they used at the miners strike, i had respect for the police until that day, now they are pigs the lot of them. but the local police could have stopped us locals getting picked on.

So you lived in the area, you were not a part of the peace convoy then?

no i lived near there, i had long hair and drove a new MG but the hair made us a target, and the wife was a teacher, so we were not travelers as were most of the people getting a kicking.

I dont think they really cared who they targeted, they were out for results and to make a point.

Done Glastonbury, got wet, not worth the money IMHO.
1st time as someone mentioned hopped over the fence. "nd was to actually see a band. Rained and messed it all up.
Left and went home.
Never again!
