Global warming new thread

Try READING what he posted, yet again...
you claimed that "legislation" has caused costs to rise and business to become untenable

I simply asked you for examples of such legislation.....but wont or cant answer

Nasty accusations and insinuations came from him
really?

I asked you if one of the reasons you voted for brexit was because you thought EU were lowering British workers wages

And if that is the case why are you unhappy with Unions campaigning for decent wages and conditions for British workers

but you wont or cant answer

It is clear to me you are claiming Im causing trouble as a deflection, because you dont want to answer my questions as they destroy your previous posts

If you can't be bothered to read what's in front of you then i'm really not interested in talking to you
you still havent said what legislation you want to get rid of

nor have you said why you dont like Unions trying to get British workers decent wages

no wonder you are getting so angry :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

You said: "Artificially increasing wages with legislation and targets until the businesses just shut down.."

but you wont say what legislation you dont like.

Come on, Why wont you say??

Normal people don't try to get into conversations with someone who has told them over and over again that they don't want to talk to them!

There is an ignore function on here. I've never used it, so I don't know how it works in practice. But maybe you could try it?

NO

it is because you cant answer the question

when you say "a pleasant conversation" you mean you dont want anybody who scrutinises what you say and asks searching questions that make you uncomfortable

thats the real truth
He's done it on other threads when proved wrong. Has hissy fit and refuses to throw the ball back. Just another low intelligence, boring troll.

Energy costs are trifling, compared to the cost of employing staff.
that is certainly true

my monthly cost of electricity and heating oil was around £1000 (admittedly pre covid)
that was for around 20x 3 phase machines, some of them with 25kw motors (not on all day)

my monthly wage bill was around £15,000

by "perfectly reasonable" you mean one where you dishonestly try and blame high wages on spurious "legislation".....of which you cant provide a single example

when you say "perfectly reasonable debate" -you mean one where you can say things which are demonstrably untrue and you dont get challenged on it
what do high wages have to do with climate change?

How come you always seem to pop up to support him? Bit of a coincidence that it seems to happen so often...

We don't need to surely?

Simply draw up a contract that says they can only have the oil/gas license if it's sold at a reasonable price to British users...

If they don't want that, they don't get the license!
It wouldn't be that simple, you'd never manage it for the existing producers without nationalisation and any new ones would take 10-15 years to start producing.

In the meantime time the US and OPEC would shut down our economy. They don't like arbitrary trade tariffs that don't suit them, not would the EU play ball.

I have no idea how many international treaties we'd be violating.

It's a superficially sensible idea but it doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of working.

what do high wages have to do with climate change?
the context can only be appreciated by seeing the post stream from around p6 or 7

I was merely responding to dns1s post, which I quote here in full:

"Well we have Labour and the unions to thank for that!

Artificially increasing wages with legislation and targets until the businesses just shut down...

Ironically the thing that's pushing people into poverty now is energy costs (both directly and indirectly) and yet several people here are completely against allowing us to sort that problem out by using our own resources!"

but dns1 cant say what legislation he doesnt like

For a start, I'd like to know more about how Norway produces it's own energy without the crazy restrictions the rest of us have to stick by..
Norway didnt give away its revenue from oil in the form of tax cuts to buy voters like the UK did

Norway uses oil revenue to fund public services

I dont know about restrictions you are referring to
