Government scraps pension cap

As that is something I did not say, your post is irrelevant.
That's one of the tactics you often try when you're annoyed and/or have lost understanding. In the old phrase, bitter and twisted. It leads to loss of objectivity, honesty, veracity and overall respectability,

The problem is, you always try to pull someone down one of your favourite rabbit holes. Hatred of Tories, people with more money than you, Brexit, Boris Johnson etc.. Most of us do not share your passion for politics. Why on earth would something be irrelevant to an argument, just because it does not address a comment you made?

It's not all about you. These are very narcissistic traits and not conducive to your goal of trying to influence people to agree with you.

A person who already has well over a million in his pension scheme, and much more cash burning a hole in his pocket, is not among those who need extra help to protect him from poverty. If he has another million or more ready to lob in, he does not "need" tax benefits.

There are plenty of people in far greater need.
Whether the person has well over a million in his pension scheme shouldn't be the deciding factor as to whether that person, with specialist skills and knowledge, should continue working when there is a shortage of people with those skills. If a punitive tax regime deters the person from working that society wants and needs to continue working, change the tax regime.

Which is exactly what the government has done.

They now need to do something similar with the nurses pension scheme which disincentivises experienced nurses working into later life.

I said "There is no particular relationship between being rich and working hard or being skilled"

Do you think Boris Johnson works harder than a care assistant on minimum wage?

Do you think Paris Hilton is more skilled than a clock repairer?

Do you think Gary Lineker works more hours than a dairy farmer?
Do i think the prime minister should be paid more than a care assistant? yes.

Do i think Paris Hilton should even feature in this discussion? No.

Do i think that Gary Linekar works more hours than a dairy farmer? Again, irrelevant. Gary Linekar earns what he earns because he has a particular set of skills that allowed him to play successfully for England that also transfer over to his presenting work. The dairy farmer doesn't.

Wrong. The doctors are used in publicity as an excuse.
Is there or is there not a problem with doctors retiring early?

Is it acknowledged that punitive pension tax charges are a significant reason for doctors retiring early?

Does the governments pension tax change directly address this problem?

Because, like the other two, she demonstrates so clearly that there is no particular relationship between being rich, and working hard or being skilled.

The false idea that wealth is in some way "deserved" is often used as an excuse for giving extra benefits to them. It is a naive or poorly thought through concept.

Paris Hilton is rich by birth, not ability. If she happens to benefit from a policy that is directed in another, truly beneficial societal direction then that should not be a reason to not enact that policy.

If you don't think that some wealth is genuinely deserved, then you are a communist.

yes
the Labour party have a policy to address this for doctors

Does the governments pension tax change directly address this problem?
the govt have made available to everybody -so theyve used it as an opportunity to benefit the rich, not just doctors

how has the govt helped people on lower incomes?

Perhaps we should have a government who assesses if a person deserves the money and takes it away from those who don't, pass the test. That seems to be a flavour of Marxist–Leninist communism.

For every Paris Hilton there are 10 skiving layabouts claiming benefits because they don't want to work.

Or perhaps its a response to nailed-on Tories trying to tell us how great life is....for the rich.
Well do forgive folk when they say FUDGE YOU MBK.

What makes you think Paris Hilton is rich? The crap put out by the very newspapers you despise. Most of the time it’s all ballcocks. Publicity put out by….her publicist. You or I or just about anyone on the planet had no fking idea of the true worth of Paris Hilton or many other 'celebrities'. Often comes out only when they are dead. Micheal Winner being a prime example - everyone thought he was living in a £50m mansion but he was mortgagee up to and beyond his eyebrows and left virtually feck all.

Robert Maxwell. There’s another one. And just wait till that well known 'billionaire' Trump dies and his finances are unravelled. I’d be surprised if he has a pot to pîss in.
