battle of britain without a doubt. This entire nation from bus driver to pilot, from school children to sailor, from bank clerk to soldier pulled together to turn around a close defeat to a victory. It wasnt just about the raf it was the whole country united in working together to give them what they needed to win, and for once we were actually united by something, the resolve to win.

did we ever have an hour or did the russians do the job for us

after the germans mounted operation CITADEL in 1941 and it failed everyone that knew anything realised it was over for germany
