Gurgling under kitchen sink but no water running

Unfortunately @markjg123 you bought the plain trap and not the adjustable height one, that you actually pictured (albeit the 32mm one and not the 40mm one) in post #19, and as was mentioned here
Fit the new Adjustable trap with anti syphon/vac, that now give you a new outlet height.

Just return it and get the other one - though I'm not sure if SF/TS do the 40mm adjustable height AV traps.

That being said, if there was to be a full waste outflow layout change as in post #18, it could all be sized whereby C is removed altogether and an adjustable height trap wouldn't then be needed and your new trap would just fit straight onto the coupler above
(disappointed that section doesn't have a letter :(;) )
I'm confident I can do that

I was going with the simple replacement option. I happened to be in B&Q and grabbed the 40mm trap without thinking. I've opened the bag, so they might not refund me.

yeah, I've done that a few times, each time I've just pleaded ignorance and got away with it, hey you can only ask. If you opened it neatly it's amazing what a clear piece of tape can fix ;), I always use a sharp blade or scissors.

I ripped it open with my hands, so not neat at all :censored: I'll try anyway.

You're right about SF/TS not selling the 40mm version. Will have to order online or find a plumber's merchant.
