I've got the P20.
It's not bad but think I'd go for Samsung next time or back to iPhone
I'd been having HTC for years; got tired of shelling out £500 every year for a new model - while I didn't want to upgrade my phone tends to take a battering at work and come 12-18 months they're falling apart.
After this I started Lenovo-Motorola. I had the Motorola RAZR for years (well, 3 different ones) and they were bulletproof. Even the Lenovo made ones are pretty solid for smartphones.
Foolishly decided to try a Nokia after the last Motorola refresh didn't appeal to me much, seemed to be pretty much the same handset as the previous with little improvement but a bumped up price. What a mistake.
I've had 2 Nokia 8s within 8 months (I did drive over one but that wasn't the issue where Nokia was to blame; my brother had an 8.1 3 months ago - all three have failed to software issues. Mine currently fails to make calls - it will dial but the other person only gets an ear fill of static unless I call through WhatsApp or turn on speakerphone. Same issue happened on the other due to buggy software.
As of tonight my brother installed the April security patch that's been issued for his 8.1 and it's bricked the phone; won't go beyond the boot screen. We're both going back to Motorola.
The other half and most of her family have the latest iPhones. Admittedly they're nice but for what they're used for, email, text, calls, WhatsApp and the odd photo of your lunch, a £150-250 phone could do the same comfortably. If you really desire a good quality snap I myself would invest in a good DSLR or even one of the more entry level ones. I have a Canon EOS which cost me almost £2k when I bought it with some bits and pieces and a Nikon J5 for just out and about. Much more satisfying using those I find.
