If you look at tibets biggest commodity then it may well be the reason china has occupied it. Oil/ Gas NOPE something far more precious. The Water that flows from the Tibetan plateau supplies water to half a billion chinese and and about a quarter of Asia . So who controls Tibet can with the aid of dams etc can control the water that flows into the 4 rivers that supply most of Asia.
