Me twice. It's embarrassing, but much better than the worry. The check your blood first, then in my case MRI, then finally the finger just to make sure there is nothing untoward.

I'm.not sure why he put his finger up my bum, I feel it was him making a point.
Prostate cancer = anyone over 40 encouraged to be checked
High blood pressure = encouraged to be checked (machines are cheap and pharmacy does it for free)
High blood sugar level = cheap as chips, pharmacies do it.
Glaucoma = free check up (if I'm not mistaken, specsavers offers this check for a small fee or free for elderly and people on benefit)
That's why I said that basic preventative tests should be taken.

A good few hundred, I think. I remember seeing one advertised about five years ago.
Over the years, I've had various scans (MRI and CT and ultrasound). After the last two, the specialist pronounced that there was nothing wrong with the parts they were scanning, but they had found new medical conditions affecting two different parts of my body. So I have resolved to give up having scans......
But if you want a cheap private test, start with bloods.
There are so many issues that can be detected with blood tests these days and it is reasonably cheap to have it done privately.
PSA, HbA1c, cholesterol, thyroid, testosterone, heart disease, hepatic and renal function are the main ones that I have, although my GP or endo specialist does these.
You can pay a company called Medichecks do a comprehensive blood test for £250+ £35 (to go to a clinic to have the sample taken). It gets sent off then within a week you get the results, along with comments from a doctor.
Then you will be in a good position to assess your general health.

Could you not go to your GP, tell him your fears/concerns and get him to send you up for a blood test then take it from there depending on the results of the test?
My GP occasionally has a blitz. I rather think it is when there is a bonus available, so they shovel a few hundred men through on a weekend.
My health insurer offers it at extra cost, I forget the price.
It used to be available where I worked, included as employee benefit. Some people refused to go because they didn't like being told to eat less and exercise more.

If either of your parents had glaucoma you can get an eye test for free and you’ll get one every year
Blood pressure - a machine and test regularly - I’ve been on tablets for nearly 3 years
The cancers are my worries given how I’ve watched my associates get it and some die far too early
I’d pay to have regular tests to save the NHS coffers some money

My body has been been through so much shįt this last year (4 years). I've had blood tests all different types of scans & biopsies.
My problem regarding the NHS is one department know a nothing about the other department. So I've been left wondering around on my own.
So If I could get one in house full body check that I'm hoping will send me in the right direction.

Yes. I get the NuffieldHealth 360+ assessment every 2 years. My company pays for mine, and I pay for my other half to have one done at the some time. (I just look like we get 2 for the price of one). It's about a grand per person, but there is a cheaper one with fewer tests.
It's very thorough, but most of all it's about peace of mind with all the blood tests, etc. You have best part of an hour with a doctor, so you can go through any concerns, niggles, etc without feeling rushed.
One of my colleague had the very first early stages of possible prostate cancer detected in his test (I forget exactly what they detected, increased hormone or something). They said it could be monitored and might not change for a decade, but he elected to have his prostate removed as a preventive measure almost straight away. It helps to have private medical insurance too!
Obviously everyone has different thresholds for what they deem valuable or worthwhile, but personally even if my company stopped paying for the assessment, I would continue to pay for them myself every 2 years.

ps - never been fingered on my tests, they have a blood test for the prostate. They do check your nuts though.
