Regarding the Gledhill, apologies for not being clear.... they are proposing fitting a Gledhill Pulsacoil PTBP180.
Naturally, because that's the only only Pulsacoil model that's still being manufactured. I don't know why some people are finding that so hard to grasp.
As the Gledhills go, is this one of their good ones?
It's made by different company to the one that went busts, so the quality is likely to be as good as Gledhills unvented and other vented products. Some people think that's poor, and some think it's fine. Only time will tell, but I haven't seen any abnormally short lives on the ones I've installed.
It's a different story for the Gledhill Pulsacoil 3/2000/A Class products that are now out of production, because those have a poor reliability record. They're simple to fix, but if the cylinder goes then it's an expensive exercise to replace it.
I don't have any warranty documentation for the megaflo, unfortunately. None was provided when we bought the place. They don't have a 25 year warranty do they?
The stainless cylinder does, if it's maintained correctly.
as far as i know gledhill have gone bust.
One company did, but the other didn't. There's a new Gledhill company that just supplies parts and service contracts, and no cylinder products, so the Gledhill BP is made by the company that
didn't go bust. Again, this is kindergarten stuff, but beyond the wit of some forum members.
parts availablity in future uncertain.
Parts for out-of-production products is an uncertain as any other out-of-production product of another brand.
gledhill tech line is £1.00 a minute.
The official one is 60p per minute, so I don't know who you've been ripped off by.
