Help with box with (insist on 5va written on it)

Apologies for the lack of information but i have just moved into a flat and the box that is next to the fire alarm etc with insist on 5va written on it is making a vibrating noise, is this normal and what is that box

It's an (old) texecom veritas security alarm panel.

How loud it the buzzing?

There is a transformer inside the box which will buzz a bit, but if it is loud it could indicate a problem.

Do you use the security alarm?

Well - I've learned 3 things from this, which is above average for such a short thread:

1) A neat way to use Google sarcastically - I love it.

2) If you search for this though, you find it doesn't occur anywhere on the Interwebby except here.

3) Some people post information from stickers advising the selection of fire-resistant enclosures as if it were relevant to their problem....
