The only time the pump is not switched with the boiler is with thermo-syphon, the Hive thermostat has a special function to work with thermo-syphon but it would be unusual to have two motorised valves with thermo-syphon, but the C Plan has at least 3 versions.

My own system has two motorised valves, and two pumps, and two relays and the DHW is still thermo-syphon.

So it may be we have missed some thing.

Only one pump. I think it’s the wiring. Im hoping I can just change something in the pics I posted. Directly wire 4 to the pump?

This is the wiring next to the pump and valves but there was wiring to the old thermostat which was removed which I think is the problem - or is there something I can do here?

And these are the old wires which he cut off in the ceiling.

there is also a control box in the ceiling which is now inaccessible.

Think I might be onto something here.

old thermostat wiring, cable on left becomes live when calling for heat. Maybe if i join that back to the left cable? Think that is what he cut as well.

Didn’t work.

Can I hijack one of the cables at the back of the hive boiler controller to get the CH on signal up into the loft?

or do I connect all three wires together that were in the thermostat?

FYI here is the other control box now in the ceiling (pics taken last year)

So looks like the cable 4 from the hive controller goes straight to the thermostat and then another cable to the control box in/near the loft. This second cable is the one that was ripped out.

I think i need to run another cable from the hive controller next to the boiler up to the loft control box… bugger.

just connect the CH on from the hive to the brown wire from the CH zone valve

There is no wire from the CH up to the valve.
That is because the connection used to come via the old room thermostat, just connect as I said, the hive opens the valve, the valve sends power to the boiler and pump not the hive
