Here we go - Tabloids start the attack on the NHS to take blame from our government.

And why shouldn't the nhs be criticized? Do you think its beyond reproach?

The NHS is run by the government, who underfunded it, and understaffed it, leaving it unequipped to deal with a disaster.

UK is heading towards having the highest coronavirus death count in Europe, due to poor choices by the government, ie putting economy first, at first thinking sacrificing old people to create herd immunity would work, even when experts said lockdown.

Almost 100 NHS workers have died while saving people's lives. Over 20.000 people.

The Mail decides to criticise health workers.

If you agree with this Mail article, don't go out and clap on Thursday, we don't want to hear your fake appreciation.

It's Ed Riley's latest article, he's always slagging off our NHS.

At times like these, surely we should applaud the Conservative MPs who in 2017 voted down the chance to give nurses and other public servants a pay rise above 1%, and cheered themselves doing it.

Shouldn't we?

What a difference three years makes.

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) said the 1% cap on public sector pay, which had been in place for seven years, has seen nursing pay fall by 14% in real-terms since 2010.

"Minister says food banks are a “perfect way” to meet challenges of “difficult times”

28 January, 2020
Food bank use has increased by around 2,800% since the Tories came to power."

The Work and Pensions Secretary has been criticised for calling food banks a “perfect way” to help people get through difficult times.

Food bank use has increased by around 2,800% since the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats came to power in 2010. This is mainly a result of changes to the social security system.

The minister’s comments came after new Labour MP Zarah Sultana said in Parliament that the fact there are more food banks in the UK than McDonalds was a “national scandal”.

Here’s the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions’ reply, where she describes food banks as a “perfect way” to meet the challenges of those in poverty.

They shouldn’t be attacking the workers. Morale is vital and taking 30 mins to do video would make a huge difference. I’m so sorry that they may for one moment feel they did something wrong. They didn’t.

people need to recognise this is unprecedented and errors and bottlenecks will occur. There are going to be many lessons learned, but best practices are thin on the ground.

Why didn't they use the Nightingale for the covid patients so other hospitals could attempt a fairly normal service ? Reports of less than 50 patients at the Nightingale , while A&E departments are seeing less than half of their usual numbers (possibly due to pubs being shut). Doctors are worried people with other serious conditions are avoiding hospitals for fear of contracting covid.

Why would the government give masks or any ppe to a privately run home ?

To save lives?
The government is setting up logistics networks using the army to deliver PPE to front line workers. Others are having to make do without, and people are dying. The government does have a responsibility to look after the people.

Right, so we must ensure the government bail out virgin atlantic as well, and any other PRIVATELY run organisation.Should they also be giving us all ppe then, that would help reduce the spread.?

Don't be a dick. Virgin Atlantic don't look after hundreds of thousands of vulnerable, high-risk elderly people. There is no comparison, and any attempt to make a comparison suggests you have no compassion or care for what is going on.

People are dying in their hundreds and the state is sticking its head in the sand and hoping the problem will go away.
