Hidden costs of changing to a combi

CBA to read the whole thread, so let's get down to the nitty gritty, who should we blame for this life changing catastrophe?

Immigrants, foreigners, global warming, ban on smacking children?

FFS:confused:

One of my sources of information, along with the borough coincillor for the area. Should havem they are asking the question. There is "truth and nothing but the truth" and there is "truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth"

Bring back transco

So please get it or offer an apology to cadent (national grid gas). They do monitor this and other forums

The apology should come from Cadent ( National Grid ). At a site meeting to plan the work the parish council told Cadent where the gas mains were. Under the road. Cadent said they were under the pavement. I gather it was only when they dug into the pavement that they discovered the gas mains were not under the pavement and that they were,. as the parish council had told them, under the road.

How is this for a safe barrier, immediately outside a pub and less than 50 metres from an infant / junior school entrance. Health and Safety consider this is safe and adding mesh to stop an inquisitive child or animal falling into the hole is prohibited under Health and Safety rules ( barriers are labelled National Grid so not the fault of the traffic management people ).

Too be fair Cadent staff on scene are doing all they can to reduce the inconvenience.

Is it true that if you have your boiler serviced in the summer, and the engineer sets the gas valve pressure accordingly, then come winter when everyone else in the street has their heating on you may find your pressure low and have to increase it slightly, or is that an old wives tale?

Cadent Gas Ltd is a privately-owned gas distribution network provider. It is not part of National Grid. It was hived off, and most of its assets were bought from NG, which I think explains why their traffic barriers are marked with the name of the previous owner.

Over the last year or so NG has been divesting itself of gas business at an accelerating rate.

Scotia Gas (now SGN) bought up a lot in about 2005

Amusingly, some of these utility companies are wholly or partly in public ownership, which might seem to be against UK policy. However, our current government is only opposed to public utilities (and railways) being owned by our own state. It has no objection to them being owned by foreign states.
