Then I'm reasonably confident you can move that black wire to one of the neutral terminals, and hopefully you should get power upstairs
...just to add - to simply check that the cable is the correct one - temporarily and safely disconnect this brown wire from the terminal block.
If the heating then fails to respond to the upstairs thermostat, but otherwise behaves correctly; you have the right cable.
