Not as expensive as you might think.
1. Join a sailing club with access to Yachts. Costs about £200 a year and about £50-60 every time you sail.
2. get qualified - Day skipper is around £1000 and 10 days (two parts, theory and practical) but you can shop around to get it cheaper.
3. go out of season. an Oceanis 41.1 is around £1,500 a week and sleeps 6-8. So 3 couples are paying £500 for the week. Fuel £100 and the odd mooring £15 a night.
