'Honour' killings ...

Family murders.

I'm glad you have never heard of it, but people of traditional UK background, almost always men, kill their wives, girlfriends, exes and children often enough for it to be a problem.

But they don't use "honour" as an excuse!

I have no interest in any murderer's excuse.

Surely you are not suggesting that makes it any better? Or worse?
I just meant that there have been murders in UK for ever, and I don't suppose the rates differ much from other comparable countries. But we can do without the more recent additional, honour, killings by other ethnic groups.

You obviously have something in mind. What is it?

Do you mean that traditional British murders are more acceptable?

It's 2023, anyone who can defend this sort of idiocy is, well, an idiot.
Plenty do defend it though, and female genital mutilation, child "grooming", forced marriage, child marriage, slave labour in garment sweat shops etc etc.
Nothing that I haven't already said. You obviously have a touch of lastworditis.
I'm out of here
Please don't go on John D's account.
here they should be reminded that sha'ria only goes so far with the Law of our land.
Depends where you live.
it certainly isn't acceptable or compatible with UK values.
Depends where you live.

I've never heard of it happening in a society with traditional UK background.
Maybe that's because we give it another name. Obviously happens much much less, but domestic violence still sees 2 women killed every week in the UK by a current of former partner. Maybe a different problem, but root cause the same - men killing women due to hatred, jealously, envy etc

The term apparently dates back to medieval Europe, when men would stone their wives to death if they had an affair.

And lets not forget the cornerstone of our country's religion - The 10 Commandments

Honor your father and mother
Thou shalt not commit adultery

Obviously most people don't take the 10 commandments so seriously these days, but Christianity will still formed on the basis of this, and the punishment carried out to those that disobeyed is what made so many people convert.

I've commented on this in earlier posts

I don't follow. As noseall asked, do you mean converted to Christianity or from it?
