kneading you with her front paws means she wants you to feed her and thinks you're her mum... kittens do that to their mothers to stimulate milk.

Because it is true for the overwhelming majority of words of that construct, and it's a handy rhyme to help those who wouldn't otherwise remember. Or are you objecting to handy rhymes being thought up for people who aren't you or who don't think like you? :rolleyes:
