How is a smart metre connected?

Oh Dear. I certainly would not dare to post the corresponding statement about the consumption of sugar in my household :)
Well I use 1.5 kg per brew, that's for 40 pints of Scottish Heavy, and I would think most is turned into alcohol. I have tried using sugar replacements when making liqueur's, but it does not work, you would not believe how much sugar is used to make 6 bottles of liqueur at 20% proof. Not made any for some time now, it is a lot of work for 6 bottles, and the shop where I got the ingredients has closed.

However they do make reading of the smart meter harder and in my case dangerous, standing on a chair to read the meter when drunk is not recommended.

By Gum Eric and John, I mean how many bags of sugar we buy per year so the boss tells me. The amount we drink in Cuba Libre, cakes and nawty foods far exceeds this tiny amout

Indeed. Eric mentioned brewing, but that's obviously different, just as is the large amount of sugar that SHMBO uses here for making jam etc. (which I was 'excluding).

I am the only person here who has sugar in tea and coffee, but I usually drink many cups (mainly coffee) every day, so our 'routine' use of sugar is quite high!

I found some non BG sites, which said how to read total, then said how to find out more go here for full guide, but page did not exist.

Lots of people complain of problems with BG, as I reported, I found them to be my worst nightmare, after they took up my supply. It was a tremendous relief to get away from them. My consumption data is now spot on, minute by minute, though I do have rather too much credit with Octopus, £450, it is entirely my choice, due to the type of account I set up with them - I pay a fixed sum into the account each month, and build up a surplus in the summer, which smooths out the winter consumption cost. I can change the amount in a second, should I wish.

3.5Kg of sugar, goes into my 23L of dry white wine - which translates into around 27 to 30 bottles.

Indeed, I used to drink gallons of coffee all day long. I musta been a right caffeine addict. First brew of working day was tea no sugar 2 mugs, cannot take coffee when first awake, then coffee al day long until evening meal the tea again, unless a meal such as Fish and chips warranted it midday then it would be tea.
Nowadays I only drink coffee say 3 or 4 times a week.

Bacardi and Coke (Diet Coke of course!") , wine, Beer and all the other things I partake of but just buying 1 bag sugar every 10 to 13 months or so is showing some restraint :giggle: Well that is my excuse - seriously though we do not go thru so much sugar unless somebody calls in for a brew.

As a matter of interest, what 'particular test' are you suggesting that meter tails have to pass?
It was a joke on "smart metre" - a pair of 50cm wires are a metre long, and they've passed a test, so they're smart
