Apologies in advance if I've submitted this in the wrong topic.

Basically, I think my current boiler (about 15 years old) has seen its day. I want to get it replaced with a similar type but want to know how much fitters charge for replacing. Am I looking at £1000s?

I currently have a conventional boiler with a water storage tank and would prefer a similar setup. The boiler needs to accommodate a 4 bedroom property in the West Midlands.

Recently had our boiler replaced and it cost £800+ for boiler and £800 for fitting. Just to give you some idea. Try buying a boiler from a plum center or even on-line this may help keep the cost down. Plumber will also need to be corgi registered. Cheers ;)

£800 for fitting? Is this the average that they charge? It would just mean simply removing the old one and installing the new one.

Guess the amount charged depends on the plumber and area you live mate and the extent of the job and time worked.

Take into consideration that the fitter will be putting his name to this and notifying relevant bodies !!

Its about what I would charge !!

Yep the £2.50 it costs to inform the relavant bodies adds an absolute fortune to the job.. Why do people lie about the cost of this.

So how much would it cost for building control to come out ??

Yes it costs an RGI £2.50 but we hold the relevant qualification !!

Why not tell Jay Patel how much it costs in fees and time to get the qualification and to repeat the exercise every five years.

I have just paid CORGI £330 to renew the registration for another year.

I paid £210 so I will give 10.267% discount

To fit a boiler you have to be corgi registered and ACS qualified anyway . it costs nothing extra to be qualified to register a boiler so what is point of mentioning what it costs to be corgi registered

So why do BC charge hundreds and did we not get the cert to be able to notify ??
Also you can guarantee that they are gonna bring the energy efficiency into the 5 yr renewal ..

And the fact we had to take a week off work to redo the 5 yr,, and it cost me 1 k on top of the week off to the test center !!
Im sure others payed more as they took COM as well ..

Energy efficiency was brought into 5 year rule last year .
What building control charge is up to them some charge as little as £50 some charge hundreds .This will be because they should be making a visit to check.
You don`t have to make a visit as you are already there.
As i said previous it does not cost you anything extra on top of what you already pay in ACS/corgi membership to be able to register a boiler. Other than £2.50
