This delay timer is used to control the lights in a communal hall, it’s triggered by various momentary contact rocker switches located along the hall. Can anyone help with the following questions?
• How can I increase the delay? Is the component marked 1M a variable potentiometer?
• Can anyone ID the timer so I might find instructions?
• Can anyone recommend a replacement timer that would fit in the same housing?

Thanks in anticipation!

This MIGHT be the setting for the DIP switch if as I suspect this is an early version of the Elkay 320A timer unit. The 1Meg variable resistor provides fine tuning of the timed period.

The DIP switches in the picture are all in the ON postion which would be 120 mins
Yes, but these are newer instructions. As the OP wishes to extend the time period, I'm guessing it's not already set to 2 hours and in between models, the DIP switches have reversed.

I think you’ve cracked it, thanks so much for your help! All four DIP switches are on so these instructions look very promising.

All off is 2 minutes, all on is 2 hours according to what you posred above
My mistake, I missed the text and interpreted it the opposite way around! I’ll have a play when I’m next there and see what I find…

Thanks!

If you are trying to establish switch settings I'll suggest turning the time right down to near minimum (5-10%) when playing as 2 minutes is a hellishly long time to wait.

While 2 hours is perfect, as long as you’re being paid by the hour, didn’t drive to the job, and there is a pub around the corner!
