Where you can connect flourescent tube lighting directly to the trunking.

so are you saying you want trunking to which you are going to fix floourescent lights or have you you "trunking with integral lights"

if the former why can n you not fix it direct to the ceiling, if the latter what do the instructions say?

Either way it should be in paralell

have you a picture or the url from where it came from?

I think nov wants advice how to actually fix the trunking.

What is the situation?

If ceiling mounted, then it can be suspended with lengths of threaded rod which are screwed into what I only know as "Zebedee fixings". These Zebedees are in turn captive in a short length of u-shaped bracket. Been a long time since I fixed this gear, so forgotten the terms. No doubt someone else will reel them off.

Or if the ceiling is reasonably flat, it can be screwed direct. In a ceiling below a suspended timber floor, you would need to find every joist to ensure a secure mounting - the trunking will have to carry the fluorescent battens. If concrete, then expanding anchors are the fixings of choice.

Well I hope your not fitting Lighting trunking into your house..man that would look ****!! :D

You joke, FWL mate, but actually that look is "in" in a lot of converted warehouses in central Manchester.

You know, bare silver ducting, and galv cable tray actually being made a feature of!!!! And there's miles of it.......

A few weeks ago there was an apartment up for sale (1.3m) and the guy had the "feature" highlighted in the advert (exposed ductwork, cable runs etc.....) as a selling plus point!!

Now you know what to advertise to increase business!!

Those crazy manks!

I did see an advertisement for a maisonette that listed "separate bathroom" as a feature. Boy was I glad to see that, far too many maisonettes with a toilet in the middle of the living room nowadays ;)

It is interesting to see just what people can use and make look good. Think I will stick to my hidden wires for now though

When you sell your gaff, make sure "CONCEALED WIRING" features highly!

Not like my old man who bought his house in 1982, and the kitchen featured "Congealed Lighting".....definitely a rewire!!
