Thousands of veterans are struggling to get government payouts for injuries caused in service, with some facing poverty and suicide over the issue.

These veterans overwhelmingly report the same things - not getting the level of payment they need and then facing lengthy and complex battles to get an increase.

Payments to injured veterans fall into two camps - war pensions and the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS).

Those who were physically or mentally harmed during service before April 6 2005 can apply for war pension payments. After that point they must go to the AFCS .

It's not a zero sum game but it shows how pathetic your thinking is.

You can only justify it in your disgusting mind by deflecting to migrants - nasty individual you are.

It is the mindset of the MOD and Government for implementing the same mentality and ideology they do for disability claims.

I have a number of friends who are, (some were), ex-military and can vouch for this story. One particular guy spends heis 'enforced, early retirement/medical discharge' fighting for these guys. Sadly there is not a week that goes by when he doesn't hear of a 'family' member who has cracked under the strain and took his own life.
It is way past time we started caring for these people. Far too many have been denied their rightful dues and it's time our MP's had the balls to stand up in parliament and demand this situation be put right as a matter of urgency.
