I give up.

there are people who believe that if a holy man says the right magic words over a piece if biscuit, it turns into human flesh.

They are entitled to believe it if they wish. It would be foolish and unreasonable for a person who holds such beliefs to mock or disrespect other people who have different beliefs which they might not share.

Seeing as I don't believe that I'll continue to dislike islam. Ta muchly.

"Mitch, EFLI's sentence does not make sense.
However your above paragraph goes one better."

I see a pattern forming throughout this thread. You don't understand much of what anyone says...but it's all their fault.
The problem is Mitch you are compounding the fact that the original post (in respect to the sentence in question) does not make sense. Using gibberish to explain nonesense is not going to win any plain speaking awards now is it.

I don't believe that saying magic words changes cheap wine into blood any more than I believe that throwing stones at a rock gives an imaginary devil a headache, so I feel perfectly justified in mocking and disrespecting people who believe in such things. However, I wouldn't pour scorn directly to their faces as that would be rude...
...and they might be bigger than me!

Good points JBR.

I think if it is a recognised religion then the thinking is that we must respect their beliefs but that is only so that 'our beliefs' (their population control, albeit lessening) may continue because, after all, if, say, Britain were to decide officially that islam is just downright rubbish then, by definition, so is christianity. This they will not do.
For Noseall. How much longer must this be tolerated? Various methods of population control prolonged by those whom it suits on the pretext of divinity. CLICK

There may be fewer recognised religions in Britain but in the US it is easy to set up another and their constitution says you may not discriminate, in any field, on the grounds of religious beliefs.

Only last week a Republican contender said that he didn't think a muslim should be able to be president - shot down in flames and probably scuppered his chances.
At least in Britain, Catholics are still not allowed to be head of state.

Not if you don't understand it.

Did anyone else not understand the original post?

There's only one person that has stated several times during this thread that they don't understand. Essentially a child could get the drift of what was said.

Anyway best not "compound the fact" any more.
