A shop fitter mate of mine was working nights over there a few years ago fitting out shops when closed and he said then that the streets were full of rubbish, people sleeping in the streets and f*cking huge rats.

or an off-the-cuff quip.
Why s0 Serious?

Why so unimaginative?

"A day at the races"would be a closer comparison, but as that was coke-fuelled and bladdered middle- and upper-class bell-ends, doesn't fit the narrative of belittling" the common man / woman". (y)

Many metropolises have an uglier side.
He works a lot up London - always nights, always doing shopfitting. He said London was nothing like as bad as he saw in Paris. Said he only felt safe when he got to the store and locked himself in.

So your Brexit supporting mate says “Paris worse than London”

he probably visits those fantasy supermarkets always full of fresh produce :ROFLMAO:

I have no idea whether he supports Brexit or not. It’s not really a topic of conversation we pursue. I possibly suspect not as he works a fair bit of time in Europe laying the floors in high class stores during refits. Brexit doesn’t seem to have stopped him or his team working there. All I know is what he tells me he sees when he's there - some streets are literally a tent city.

Don’t take my word for it. Look for yourself. Plenty of examples.

Those tents are poss just a stopover for many, until they can catch a dinghy heading this way.

French let them sleep in tents, we put them up in 4* hotels. Who are the biggest fools?
