I agree with my best mate JohnD (he's the only one left talking to me)
if the taliban are not an organisation how do they (1) keep coming no matter how many get killed (2) keep getting supplies, (3) win a few battles. (4) retake position in the field ,(5) were do they get there dosh from, if there's no organisation to give it to (6) how do they recruit,(7) and why are the locals figthing them if they dont know who there figthing give us a clue surely someone must be missing all the dead on there side and why were these people in afganastan before 9.11 and the so called war on terror

Some very pertinent questions here billyo, the answers to which can only show how well organised the taliban army really is. I don't know these answers, but I'd love to hear from those who claim to.

It's pretty simple really. In any society there will be groups that rise to the top via violence. In Afghanistan it is the Warlords who profit from the proceeds of war and drugs. To get the cannon fodder to fight they feed them bumph about Jihad or Holy War. This is funded by wealthier Afghans who are 'expected' to donate to the war effort. Bearing in mind their wealth is usually via drug running they can hardly say no. If anything happens to any tier of the pyramid then another will quickly jump in to take their place. It's the same hierarchy as bees and ants. There's nothing new under the sun.

Yes it is, but it's organised chaos, that has a life of its own.
taliban = organisation making money from opium poppy production.
allegedly, after the 'coalition' invaded and 'ousted' the taliban, opium production increased in afghanistan.
sounds like the usual global cash cow protection to me
but i wouldnt know cus i dont live in afghanistan
i know one thing though...
the 'coalition' didnt go in there to protect 'the people'
nor did the 'coalition' go into iraq to ignore the possibility of making thousands of dollars from oil at the expense of innocent iraqis.

we could buy all the poppys they can grow give them a fair price for it and then burn it. or find a use for it then theres just the Taliban to deal with . if that gets sortedthe people could get back to doing whatever they use to do before the taliban came
