Invent a lockable tyre inflator, make a few quid.

Regardless of people's views on SUVs and owners of them, I still consider folk like this to be scum. Could be one of 1000 scenarios, however imagine you're heading out for an important appointment or are running late for work, only to discover your tyres are down thanks to muppets like this.

New vigilante eco group targets SUVs across the UK and deflates HUNDREDS of tyres | Daily Mail Online
I assume you also view those protesting about 'insulate britain' as being 'scum' in the same way?

Of course it forced a government U-turn, so is that a bad thing in your opinion?

And as for people's views of SUVs, could you tell us why they are necessary for the school/shopping run?

Yep. They're also scum. They held 100s (1000s?) of people up, many of whom had deadlines (some urgent) to get somewhere. And yes, I understand that's the whole point of this type of protest.

Are SUVs necessary for people doing a school run? For 99% of them very likely not. However, we live in a free democratic society where these vehicles are openly for sale to anyone. Do you think the sale of such vehicles should only be to those that can justify having one e.g. farmers? If so, then we need to expand that policy out. e.g. if people want a vehicle that can go in excess of 80mph, they need to justify why they need such a vehicle. Want to buy a 3 bed house but you're a single person? Justification please or no sale.

I make no secret that I like the Range Rover Sport. I can't afford a new(ish) one so for me it'll probably never happen. However, if I was fortunate enough to have the £££ to buy one, I probably would. My one luxury in life if you like. So if I parked up e.g. at the shops and came back to my vehicle only to find the tyres down ... yes ... I would class those that did it as scum.

It is a bit amusing to think of lots of irate Chelsea Tractor drivers

I run one but what is a SUV. Mine actually is a 4x4. Reasons space and seating. Also carting a dog about. But footprint scarcely any different to conventional car hat I could realistically use. Fuel consumption - 200miles there and 200mils back 48mpg mixed driving and I don't hang about. There are plenty of cars around that would use more.

It's like most thiings really. Tarring all with the same brush is a little stupid.

I've noticed that a lot of the current crop of vehicles marketed as SUVs are more like people carriers.

look at the quashkai

not so different from a sharon

not intended for off road work, unless you mean driving on the pavement.

not so many tractors and trucks in UK.

Why do people assume that just because they see somebody doing the school run in an SUV, it is the only thing they use it for.
Plus - these were electric!

I own an estate. I don't always go camping. Am I am bad person too?

Absolutely :ROFLMAO:

I detested the Range Rover Evoque, with a passion......until I saw the convertible.
Except as an SUV it's a joke. Maybe the Mini has more luggage space.

Maybe the Mini has more luggage space.

That was a big problem for me on just about every car of any type I looked at. This area seems to have got worse and worse over they years.

This is what happens when people get off criminal damages charges because of the "greater good". Letting someones tyres down is Criminal damage because it requires effort to repair/correct. its also reckless and people may not notice they have a flat.

You can get spinning valve caps for under £10 with a special removal tool.
Or you just cover the caps in security ink or poop.
