Immersion heater tripping electrics

Although not affecting your current problem you should not do this. The pull cord is for isolation for maintenance and does not need to be turned off between showers.

Unnecessary wear and tear. Plus if you switch it off while the shower is actually running it could damage the switch.

The switch is not actually required by the regulations so you use it as you want.
There isn't much benefit switching it off every time.

To say it is for a plumber's or electrician's use only is ridiculous.
If that were the case then another one should be fitted to work on the first and then another so that...

I suggest you now ignore the next 4 days bickering about the switch beween Winston and EFLI.

Just concentrate on sorting out your faulty immersion element.
