Didn't the Mayflower get rid of English Puritans? :)

Bloody marvellous. Not long got home. Fantastic day out and we were photographed at every stop by dozens of train buffs. We're stuffed to the gills though - it was food, food, food all the way there and back plus afternoon tea when we were there. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Service was superb. Only slight gripe was the amount of soot and ash that came in through the windows but I suppose that’s to be expected! A few pics of the train and the grub!

Great to see and experience.
I watched the recent series of the North Yorkshire Railway and was amazed at the time and effort required to keep these beauties going.
Summer months is a problem as staff need to follow the engines, to check for rail side fires caused by ejected hot coals :(
How did they manage in the old days when it was only steam engines in use?
