I suspect it greases the pockets of commerce.
You have to admit that the UK spending £2.3bn over 5 years in bribes for trade that it already had makes more sense than the £100bn per year that the UK now doesn't have because of the trade it chose to lose...

One wonders how many of those moaning about the aid budget also voted to impose that massive financial hit on the UK...

And ironically immigration is currently at record levels, especially from the sub-continent :rolleyes:

Nothing wrong with immigration if controlled by the country people are emigrating to. Probably why you couldn’t emigrate to Iceland. Tell us, does anyone from the sub-continent have a right to just waltz in to the UK and start work, unchecked, like EU nationals did or do they have to apply to fill a particular need or criteria?

It was a mutual arrangement which just as many UK people enjoyed the right to migrate to other EU countries, whether for retirement or work.
