So here's the sequence -

I remember the "experts" who said that in 2010 London would have tropical climate and be on the beach:

Did they now.

Well - I'm sure you can prove that, and you really do need to, because I'm afraid that your credibility, as evinced by what you have said so far, is zero, and without proof of what you say no sane, intelligent person can believe a single thing you say.

So...

1) Nothing in your "proof" about a prediction for 2010.
2) Nothing in your "proof" about London having a tropical climate.
3) Nothing in your "proof" about London being "on the beach".

4) Nothing from you to show that anybody should believe a word you say.

Already said: I owned an A6 Le Mans full optional. Sit in one of them and see what luxury feels like.
Or even an old high spec Jag.
I can't help noticing that despite you being asked multiple times you still cannot identify a single feature which to you signifies "luxury".

But I don't need to wonder why.

Again, name one single prediction that became reality.
Just one.
I did.

But true to form you thought you could drive it out of existence with false claims.

Spoiler alert: You can't.

Based on what evidence?
On the undeniable evidence that this claim:

I remember when the "scientists" started the disaster fairy tale in the 80s.
So far they haven't got one of their prediction right, not a single one.

was patently untrue - many predictions have come true.

And just in case you still haven't got the message: No, you cannot successfully make false claims which result in the disappearance of facts and evidence.

Of course they will.
They're imposing the EV on us, we have no choice.
Eventually, but it will take a long time, and I suspect that ultimately only a small minority of people will end up being forced. If any - maybe the number of people who remain insistent on driving an ICE will be low enough for e-fuelled cars to cater for them.

If they didn't increase taxes for ice vehicles people would not buy EVs
They're also increasing taxes for EVs.

Big trump is in. It is your pants that is at risk.

You have only to look around the world at the people who are pleased about this, to know what a crap idea it is. You're pleased, obviously, as is Putin. I suspect that chap running North Korea will be pleased too....
On the downside, I imagine the Ukrainians won't be too please, and there's a very real chance that Russia will move its border closer to us...

...but maybe that's what you want...?

How many people do you know who do not use a smartphone?
I know one, my 96 year old neighbour, not because he's opposed to it, but because he can't see the screen.
He uses a computer though.

Lots - almost everyone....

...these days...

Of course, plenty of folk would have absolutely nothing to do with the when they first came out. Thank you for making my point for me, rather nicely... ;)

And not just phones either...

Therefore, you cannot fairly assess the cost of EV's. Most of the rest of us, have to buy, and run our own vehicles, and pay ALL the cost of ownership, as well as taking the hit, when the time comes to sell.

Oh... we're back on to the "if you've no direct, lived experience of something you're not entitled to an opinion on it" one again are we? That's fine. I'll look forward to fewer posts from you about the downsides of EVs then...:)

That all applies equally to you, and your EV experience. Like many things - Great if someone else takes the risk, and entirely finances it for you. Meanwhile, back in the real world..

You may have noticed (actually you probably haven't  ), that I never really comment on retail prices or residual values. My interests are technical, regulatory and environmental. Oh, and of course, the day-to-day realities of living with one, because that's where my experience lies...;)

Perhaps you'll consider doing the same...?
