Insurance fraud?

They are. They are extremely profitable. This is the reason Warren Buffett runs an insurance company.

Profitable from selling insurance services, NOT from selling written-off cars! :ROFLMAO: You really are utterly clueless, aren't you? Insurance companies make their money by charging people insurance premiums. What they actually WANT, is for you to cough-up you insurance premium and NOT "total" your car! If you write your car off, they have LOST money on you that year, because the payout for your written-off car (let alone any damage you might have done to a 3rd party with it) will be more than the premium you paid. Haven't you noticed how they offer those things called "no-claims" discounts"? How does your business case work, if (as you claim), it's more lucrative for them to sell your written-off car to someone? Wouldn't you have thought they'd be positively encouraging people to write their cars off? Have you any idea how utterly ridiculous you sound to anyone with even half a brain? (It's OK, that was a rhetorical question...)

Done that how many times? 2 times?

Perhaps you'd like to tell us how many write-offs, you've bought back off insurance companies? ;)

We intend to. We had big oil behind us. Now we have big insurance behind us. Next, we will have big trump behind us. We can't lose.

Wow... "Stockholm syndrome" really is a thing with you, isn't it?! :ROFLMAO: You really think Big Oil (or Trump) care about you?! Really?! You're getting your butt kicked every time you fill up, and like the good little sheep that you are, you just keep on coming back for more...

Oh, I thought it was the other way round. No wonder I'd been losing money all these years.

I think we can add "business advice" to the (long and growing) list of things never to ask Nutjob's advice on, along with how to jack a car up, how to invalidate your insurance with pattern parts, and and how often to change your oil...;)

I don't enjoy it, in fact, I miss my real "luxury" cars.
86% of the cars on Autotrader are ICEVs.

Are none of them "luxury"?

But I have no choice because the scambag politicians have classed me as the destroyer of the planet.
3000 miles/year in cars that never failed to pass emission tests at mot.
Those tests do not include checking/measuring CO2 emissions though, do they.

Instead, to save the planet they want me to join the millions leasing ev and changing them every 3 years.
I kept my cars never less than 10 years.
Figure that out.
I must have missed the change in the law which made leasing an EV compulsory and buying/selling ICEVs illegal.

EVs redefine "luxury"! Even a relatively low-end EV has levels of driveline refinement that the likes of Mercedes, Bentley and Rolls Royce could only dream of. My current car is the most luxurious I've ever actually driven. If it's luxury you're wanting, EVs have it in spades...

The most urgent environmental problem facing the planet, is climate change. (Or at least, so the scientists tell us). I happen to believe them too. I know not everybody does, but I can assure you that over the last few weeks, a few more people in Valencia might have changed their views.... And with every "extreme weather event" that happens, a few more people start to think: "Hmmmm... maybe there's something in this after all..."?

The problem with the MOT test, is that it doesn't measure CO2 emissions, so even my gaffer's (tuned), 7 litre 1968 Mustang, will breeze through an MOT, even though its CO2 emissons, per mile, are not far of what you'd get out of a supertanker! The fact that your cars pass their MOT tests on emissions, doesn't mean they don't contribute to climate change.

However, at 3000 miles a year, they won't contribute very much to it. You don't say how many you have, but one car, doing 3000 miles a year, (even if it's my boss' Mustang), won't make much difference. In fact, if your total annual mileage really is only 3000 miles a year, it's not going to be worth you getting an EV, because it's likely to be 6 or 7 years before it breaks even on its additional manufacturing CO2 emissions. I have an old petrol car that also does naff-all miles each year, and I don't beat myself up about it. The main thing, was to swap the diesel that I was doing 20,000 miles a year in, for an EV. That was my biggest polluter. If anything, switching my high mileage car to an EV, will just make the oil last that bit longer for my "Sunday car"!

No, I don't think they do. I don't think the government gives the proverbial monkey's %$£* how you finance your car. Lease it, hire it, buy it outright... I don't think I've ever seen any government communication that has expressed an option one way or the other? Similarly, I think they'd be delighted if you bought an EV and kept it for 10 years...

It amuses me when I mot test somebody's baby and fail it or give it a long list of advisories.

I always get told it's never been a problem before.

Theres an awful lot of cars that scrape through an mot but shouldn't really be on the road. Most fall into the "it's better than any new car" (ev or ice)

Quite. And when they fail on something that's going to be really expensive to fix, the owners will often pour some more money int that black hole, whilst still telling anyone who'll listen, that EVs are ruinously expensive to keep, and how their old ICE car has never cost them anything except fuel and tyres...

Oh, come on - you be trying to convince us next, that it can fly..

The world's climate, is doing what it has always done, and will always do - changed. Extreme climate events have always happened, though out history. Not much you, or I, or anyone can really do about it.

If you were really convinced we could do something about, and serious, then you would be driving so many miles as you claim to be doing in your EV. EV's are not very green to build, nor are they are green, as you seem to suggest, to fuel.

For somebody that wants to appear clever, that's a very poor argument
