I also peruse patents. Did the Ferroli patent application for the first tube in a tube dual circuit heat exchanger pre-date the Intergas patent applications relating to the production of a dual circuit heat exchanger ? Both companies were working to eliminate the secondary heat exchanger, the divertor valve and the need to run the pump when domestic hot water was needed. Which of them got there first ?

Practical experience on the tools of a trade is very valuable but it is not all that is involved in the industry.

In some industries the tools can be used by people trained to use them to perform a task. Some of these people have little if any intimate knowledge of the industry and the reasoning behind the tasks they are required to carry out.
