No I did not suggest he ( or she ) did that, what I did say was that there was ( and maybe still is ) a pub in or near London which had a solid fuel fire in the middle of a room from which the flue went down under the floor and put to an external chimney.

But you posted that on an open DIY site in front of someone who was trying to find a solution to his problem... It is a bit like telling someone that they should do their own gas work.. They don't have to take your suggestion, but then again, they just might try... Stuff like that can come back to bite you.

Engineers, not servicemen, do not fit them. To drill some holes and hang a box on a wall is no feat of construction genius. The Ferroli is so simple to fit, a monkey could fit it.

Ive been in possession of this book for the last 20 years......I'll take a photo when I go out to the van later
I don't recall a room stat that utilised weep tubes?..I can't say I've ever encountered gas weep tubes interconnected between boiler and wall stat..???
