Hi all so I have an internal door with lost keys.. And the lock in "lock position"....

I just want the quickest cheapest way to resolve this so I have a closing door..

As its locked I have tried to take off the handle but it won't.. I messaged a locksmith who wanted around £140 +to remove and change lock which seems insane as a new door is less than half the price

Any ideas welcome

You seem to have removed the handles, and the square bar, linking between them, plus the two screws top and bottom, of the lock - so it should just slide out of the socket in the door. Either paint holding it, or it's just tight in the pocket.

Remove the screws from the door knobs and remove the knobs and the square bar. Insert a screwdriver or punch in the hole for the door knob at about the 9 o’clock position and give it a good clout with a hammer to encourage it to slide out. Replace with a suitable latch mechanism.

No evidence of handle removal.
Are there grub screws holding on the handles.?
