I read that our U.K. driving licences would no longer be valid in the EU after Brexit and that we would need an international driving licence. Is that still true?
Where?I read
Yet another tiresome erroneous claim that there are no negatives after brexit...I read that our U.K. driving licences would no longer be valid in the EU after Brexit and that we would need an international driving licence. Is that still true?
So, do we need an international driving permit to drive in the EU like you said we would?Yet another tiresome erroneous claim that there are no negatives after brexit...
Why is that?
Oh that's right brexiteers can't come up with any 'benefits' !
But just to inform you...
Previously a UK citizen could stay in any EU/EEA country indefinitely, and their driving licence would be valid as long as it lasts in all those EU/EEA countries...
Now unless you get a visa you can only stay in the EU/EEA area for 3 months out of any 6 months which is on a rolling basis...
And we are also back to the old days whereby if you do manage to get a visa that allows you to stay longer than a year, your UK driving licence will no longer be valid from after a year of that visa being issued...
And you will then be required to take a driving test in whatever EU/EEA country you happen to be in to continue driving...
Those are the facts, not the myths!
Do you see that as a 'brexit benefit'?
Did you red the link I posted GOVSo, do we need an international driving permit to drive in the EU like you said we would?
You just don't get it do you...So, do we need an international driving permit to drive in the EU like you said we would?
You just can’t answer a question can you? I’m talking about the average British holidaymaker that might want to drive to Europe or hire a car if they fly there. Exclude those that want to spend more than 90 days in Europe - you didn’t mention that caveat when you said we'd all need IDP's for the EU.You just don't get it do you...

Prior to Brexit, a simple exchange of licences was possible. No 'renew' test was required. And we are also back to the old days whereby if you do manage to get a visa that allows you to stay longer than a year, your UK driving licence will no longer be valid from after a year of that visa being issued...
And you will then may be required to take a driving test in whatever EU/EEA country you happen to be in to continue driving...
But you will have to exchange your UK licence...
And you then won't be able to renew your UK licence!
According to Mottie, the same as before is a Brexit benefit. And are you still claiming that everything is still the same and no worse?
It is a fact that every topic that mottie posts trying to claim that things are the same as before brexit are either lies or ignorance mixed with a reluctance to admit the truth...Struggling to find benefits so you're finding things that aren't as bad as they might have been.
This classed as a benefit too?
All you are doing mottie is digging a big hole
