IP Addresses thread - strangely turns to a God thread!

God does helps those who seek his true mercy, prayers offered through one's heart and in full faith, I won't go into full details, but 2 weeks ago I had one very sick cat, she was dying, she was like a rag doll, could not even stand on its legs, took her to my vet, and after staying in for 4 nights the vet said she will not pull through and is most certainly going to die, I would be better off putting her to sleep.

I could not see my cat being put to sleep, and i wanted her to die at home, in my arms, so I brought my cat back at home and offered my prayers to the Almighty, for his mercy, to sparing her life, I am so glad i made that choice, she is on the mend, has almost completely recovered.

and you Atheists want to destroy our faith in him. That won't happen, we know too many incidents where his intervention has saved many situations from becoming grave.

I apologise - you are still here. Good man.

Not sure I would like God's attitude towards the lower beasts though:

Exodus 13:2
the Lord said "Consecrate to me every first-born that opens the womb among Israelites, both man and beast, for it belongs to me."

Ouch.

Exodus 20:24
"Make an altar of earth for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, your sheep and goats and your cattle. Wherever I cause my name to be honored, I will come to you and bless you."

Joshua 11:6
The LORD said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid of them, because by this time tomorrow I will hand all of them over to Israel, slain. You are to hamstring their horses and burn their chariots."

Hebrews 9:22
In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

The truth hurts eh?
And let us not forget. that countries with a policy of atheism, have killed more people in 1 century than all religious conflicts and wars combined throughout history....soviet union, china, north korea...the killing fields of cambodia, brought to you courtesy of pol pot. etc. etc. etc.

And where was God during the Pol Pot thing?

You seem to be ignoring my Bible references. A book you were quite happy to make relevant to your argument a few pages ago?

That wasn't Jesus telling them what to do. That was Jesus using a parable from a King. A story.
Not saying to do those things. You have to read the whole chapter to get the meaning of any given verse.

So he didn't say those things?

Or would you like to add the bits that make this passage mean the opposite?

*edit*
What about Deuteronomy?

You're taking them out of context and ignoring the entire story to suit your own agenda.

Much like the religionists and Science?

Numbers 31:7-18

They attacked Midian just as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they killed all the men. All five of the Midianite kings – Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba – died in the battle. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword. Then the Israelite army captured the Midianite women and children and seized their cattle and flocks and all their wealth as plunder. They burned all the towns and villages where the Midianites had lived. After they had gathered the plunder and captives, both people and animals, they brought them all to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the whole community of Israel, which was camped on the plains of Moab beside the Jordan River, across from Jericho.

Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the people went to meet them outside the camp. But Moses was furious with all the military commanders who had returned from the battle. "Why have you let all the women live?" he demanded. "These are the very ones who followed Balaam's advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the LORD at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the LORD's people. Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man. Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves.

Out of context?

There are two basic ways of life. One is "give" and one is "get".
You are a getter!

I would have thought for you guys the two ways were either the "light and the way" or "hellfire and damnation".

You have no idea what I give/do/donate. You also have no idea what my ultimate beliefs are.

Your lack of a decent debate or reasoning just demonstrates blind obedience to a collective of hypocrites and a sizeable number of dodgy men in funny outfits.

God is not the worlds policeman.

Wasn't the last Pope in the Hitler Youth?

According to your friend Mike, children are as responsible for their actions as their forefathers, and by that reason should have suffered the consequence of non participation.
