It wouldn't surprise me if this country does decide to outlaw fracking - and nuclear energy for that matter.
We have a habit of ditching things that worked in the past. A good example is state funded grammar schools, and we can all see what has happened to educational standards since.
In a way I think I'd find it highly amusing if the greenies did get their own way: happily living in their wooden huts and dancing around camp fires, their only source of heat and light. Just so long as it isn't for the next 20 or 30 years!
