£4500 -£4800 with everything. if he’s decent he’ll have a trade account with t&b co or topps and pass the discount on your tiles and adhesives on to you.
So my budget was not totally unrealistic then at least?!

if he’s trying to earn more than £200 a day he’s robbing you. helper ? £60 a day , and my money says he’ll only be with him a day or two to rip out.I appreciate that tradesmen are skilled and you are paying for their experience as well as hard work but if the materials he was supplying cost £650 for example, even if the work took a week (and £500 to his helper?) 2.5k a week in wages seems huge! Doctors don’t earn that! Lol. Of course they are entitled to charge what they like, and if this is the going rate then fair enough, but I just wanted to get an idea of this is a reasonable price. Seems it is so fair enough.

2 -3 days is nigh on impossible. no it’s impossible.
plaster don’t dry that quick apart from anything else.
8 days minimum. - 2 weeks.
2800 maximum even if he’s doing a complete rip out and install for a room that size
That's why its sensible to get 3 quotes for the same job. Recommendations from friends/neighbours who have already had work done is also helpful.
If you do accept an offer, make sure you agree in writing a work schedule ie who does what and by when. And a payment schedule.
I recently had an ensuite fully refurbished. A 2 week job to strip all 4 walls, fit wallboards, tiles, enclosed shower, sink, loo and slim cupboards, new ceiling and electric fittings.
I agreed a 1/3 paid up front, a 1/3 after week 2 and the final balance at end of work and acceptance.
Your 2/3 days seems very tight for what you are getting done.
Does his quote include a full itemised breakdown of work he is doing?
If wallboards are being removed/refitted, the ceiling edges may be damaged on removal and require skimming/painting.
Who is doing the electrics for your new shower? Certification?

As you are refurbishing a bathroom, I'd be tempted to seek quotes from someone who advertises as a bathroom specialist, who would then project manage all other trades ie plasterers, tilers, painters, electricians etc rather than just employ a plumber.
I thought that would be super expensive? and my budget (really stretching myself) is only 4K
The one quote you have received suggests 'expensive'. Google local bathroom specialists and ask the question.
That's pretty useful info for the OP£4500 -£4800 with everything. if he’s decent he’ll have a trade account with t&b co or topps and pass the discount on your tiles and adhesives on to you.
for the record , plumbers don’t necessarily make good plasterers or tilers. the price suggests to me that he will sub some of the work out. i’d be looking for a pucker multitrade from recommendation . that way he plans and does everything in advance of himself and nothing looks disjointed.
yes I will do thank you. As for the electrics I assume he would be getting someone in although my friends who is a qualified electrician has said he’d do any electrics for me. But when I mentioned to the plumber getting anyone I knew in to do stuff he didn’t seem to keen
