Lets be clear Hamas supporters are calling for a ceasefire so that they can resupply. There was a long ceasefire in place up until 7th October, when they committed an act of war on their neighbour. I am sure the Hamas leadership are not stupid. Why would they commit such a terrible act of war against a military superior opponent? It's clear they wanted to start a war in the Middle East and draw others in to help them destroy Isreal.

It hasn't worked. So arguably now, they fight asymmetrically and maximise the loss of civilian life to cry brutality. if they really cared about loss of civilian life they could negotiate a surrender or even the release of hostages in exchange for the creation of a safe zone.

All the above sounds sensible but it won't solve the underlying problem of Israels occupation of Palestinian land and people.

How do they maximise the loss of civilian life? Are they bombing themselves? Shutting water and supplies. Is this more Brexit doublespeak lingo.

If that was the case, Hamas wouldn't have be able to attack before.

The innocent people of Gaza are not an infinite resource. Eventually there wont be any left to protect.

Big difference between a homemade rocket and a ballistic missile capable of bringing down an entire block of apartments.

These rocket attacks by Hamas were usually in response to some provocation by the Israelis.

Israels policy of using so called 'surgical strikes' to kill Hamas operatives in Gaza often led to innocent civilians being killed.
This caused a lot of resentment and anger.

Drop the eradication claims and I think pressure can be put on Israel.

The word eradication can been interpreted in many different ways.
It could be referring to the eradication of Jews or it could refer to the eradication of the Jewish state in its present form.

No ballistic missiles are being used in Gaza? simple Dumb bombs and mostly JDAMS are enough to bring down large buildings, and a misfired homemade hamas rocket killed many hundreds in a hospital car park (figures from hamas)
